Auditions

The producers of Billy Elliot will be holding open auditions in Toronto on Saturday, March 13, to find boys aged 9 - 12 to play the roles of "Billy" and "Michael" in the North
American companies of Billy Elliot the Musical.

The auditions will take place at 509 DANCE (509 Parliament St., at Carlton) on Saturday, with sign-up beginning at 12:30 PM.

For the role of Billy, boys should be ages 9-12, strong dancers, especially in ballet. Maximum height is 4' 10".

For the role of Michael, boys should be ages 9-12, natural actors with strong singing voices. "Funny, real kids." Tap skills are a plus. Maximum height is 4' 10".

Boys should bring a recent photo and resume.

They should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers.

They should bring ballet shoes, jazz shoes and tap shoes, if they
have them.

All ethnicities are encouraged to attend.

Billy Elliot the Musical will be presented in Toronto as part of the 2010/2011 Mirvish Subscription Season. Performances will begin in February 2011. Exact performance dates, venue and casting will be announced at a later date. This audition is for ALL North American productions and not for Toronto alone.

Local audition notices are also posted at the Performing Arts Desk of the Metro Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street (Bloor and Yonge) in Toronto. The Performing Arts Desk is on the fifth floor of the library.
